Hello.....I've been feeding my Shih Tzu (4 yr. old Joe Joe) Natural Balance (dry) and it's been working okay. A friend told me that Gold Canin was better for their coat and skin and then another friend told me Solid Gold was the best. Any recommendations?? Sandy

I use Nutra Ultra like from Petsmart and reduces waste and less by products. Another good food is Drs Foster and Smith brand. I also put conditioner (you can get from petsilk) on my pups coat after shampoo to keep soft and helps with tangles. I use Biosilk from like Ulta stores. Before brushing/combing I have diluted conditioner in a spray bottle I spray a little on before grooming. This also helps with static. Hope this helps.

ALot of dog food have been recalled. Natural Balance and Royal Cain were one of the manufactures recalled.
I am switching over to feeding my girls, INNOVA evo dry kibble and EVANGERS or MERRICK wet food. I only give them the wet food like 3 times a week and I mix the dry kibble with fresh veggies of whatver i have left over from my dinner. Due to the recall...I have been cooking fresh meats and veggies for my furkids at nite and i feed the dry kibble during the day to make sure they are getting all the vitamins and nutrients they need. Please go to these sites for an up to date list of recalled pet food everyday. http://petsitusa.com/... http://www.avma.org/a... http://petfoodtracker... Check these sites daily to make sure of all the up to date recalls and make sure you arent feeding your pets anything with wheat gluten or rice protein!!! Read all your labels before feeding. |

Only a few brands of Royal Canin were recalled. I love this brand I recommend it to everyone. The quality of the ingredients really have impressed me. I breed Boxers. They use a lot of fish oil and other oils in their food which will make your dogs coat shine. You should check out their website and see if it interests you. They have also posted a letter on their front page saying that there have been no cases of illnesses from their food they did a voluntary recall
